About the Job

We are seeking a researcher to develop magnetic materials for next-generation data storage. The focus will be on controlled thin-film synthesis enabling advanced characterization of magnetic properties.

You will synthesize films using magnetron sputtering and optimize composition with the aim of obtaining single-crystalline films. These will be characterized with respect to structure, composition, and magnetic properties. Applying for beam time at neutron facilities and conducting these measurements is an essential part of the position.

About You

We are looking for a researcher who is genuinely interested in fundamental materials science. Since the position is located in an internationally oriented research environment and involves international collaboration, you must possess excellent communication and networking skills.

You should have:

• A PhD in materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related field.
• Documented experience in experimental studies regarding material synthesis, both thin films and powders, and characterization of magnetic properties, including neutron-based evaluation.
• Proven experience with advanced characterization techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to attract research funding.

It is an asset if you have:

• International research experience from several countries.

About the Employment

Permanent full-time position. A probationary period will apply.
